My husband texts me on Friday asking if I would like to go to an amusement park on Saturday. An amusement park? Huh. That wouldn’t have been my first choice, but we did have a blast! Getting there early was a definite bonus. It was nice and quiet, and we were even there for the National Anthem. Everyone stopped in their tracks and paid homage to the flag. This trip was Phil’s idea – he wanted more than anything to ride the wooden rollercoaster.
Unfortunately, it was closed for repairs so he had to settle for having his picture taken in front of the entrance.Tim and Phil did not find, however, that there was a shortage of exciting coasters to ride. They rode them all, except for the kiddie coasters! I think had we had more time, they would have ridden them too….This is Tim’s face after getting off the most exciting coaster of all. I think he liked it!We took a ride on a real steam engine. Unfortunately, there were a couple of bandits who hopped the train at the last minute and attempted to rob the passengers of their valuables, but I was able to get a couple of photos for the post office wall.Tim and Phil, who are both train fans, spent a considerable amount of time talking to the engineers when the ride was over. If I remember right, there are only 3 of these type left and Knotts Berry Farm is the proud owner of two of them.Phil wanted to ride everything in sight. He really should have brought his own kid!He ended up hanging out with some pretty shady characters….I had lots of fun taking photos of the neat architecture and pretty scenic areas and the guys goofing around.I made a new friend while waiting for them to ride one of the coasters The park was in the process of decorating up for Halloween. I was in the process of taking photos of the decorations – they were everywhere you looked. It was a fun day – much more fun than I expected. A great place to take your family or a date!
